Plano Public Library System Moves to EnvisionWare

Plano, TX Plano Public Library is the latest library system to migrate to the EnvisionWare Suite from a competitive solution, joining nearly 1,000 libraries that have migrated to EnvisionWare PC Management from legacy systems.

Mike Monk, Vice President and co-founder had this to say, “Our business plan projected a slow down as the library community reached a point where a majority of libraries had a PC management solution. We did not predict or imagine the huge influx of new customers that would be migrating from other systems.” Rob Walsh, President, added “Fortunately, we developed tools when the first large scale migration occurred in 2006, and we have capitalized on the point-and-click import utility that captures data from other systems and moves it easily into our solution. The only data we need to consider migrating is the print deposit account because our system links directly to the ILS for validation which in this case is Polaris, a system from one of our strategic partners.”

The Plano Public Library consists of five community libraries serving citizens of Plano and Collin County, Texas. The library circulation is approximately 2.6 million items. The library first offered Internet access in July of 1995 and adopted Comprise for PC and print management in 2004, and began considering a change in early 2006. The library recently migrated to Polaris and acquired their choice of PC Management suite as part of that migration.
