FOR RELEASE: January 22, 2007
Conyers, GA EnvisionWare, the world's largest publisher of PC management solutions, announced that Conyers-Rockdale has moved to the EnvisionWare Suite which features the functionality of the Company's PC Reservation® and LPT:One solutions.
Discussing the migration experience, the library's systems librarian offered these comments, "Everything is working absolutely beautifully, and we appreciate more than we can say, all the help you provided." The EnvisionWare Implementation Consultant for the migration project characterized the staff's opinion as "beyond ecstatic at how well everything is working." The library staff added. "You provided the best support we could have ever imagined."
Because of a steady stream of conversions, EnvisionWare's developers created a point-and-click migration utility that converts the financial information in legacy systems to a format that can be used in EnvisionWare's open database design. Mike Monk, EnvisionWare Vice President, said, "We can migrate data in minutes. We have a well-defined migration strategy that considers the impact of a migration from one system to another and, in particular, the impact of a multi-branch conversion. Because we can deploy our system one branch at a time, we have solutions that consider funds on deposit in the old system and funds in our system, and the financial and public service impact of a planned change." Unlike many of the competitive systems, EnvisionWare typically uses the ILS as the sole patron database for public libraries. A separate database is used for money on deposit for those library management systems that do not support a link to the deposit account in the ILS.
EnvisionWare is the largest provider of time and print management systems and serves public and academic libraries around the globe. Operating nine regional offices and six regional service centers, an EnvisionWare expert is close to most of EnvisionWare's more than 5,500 libraries.
