Quality Assurance Technician - Atlanta

EnvisionWare is searching for a Quality Assurance Technician with varying degrees of experience and expertise to join our QA team.

Qualified candidates must hold all qualifications of a Software Tester. Ability to use Macintosh and Linux Operating Systems at a Power User level.  Ability to install and configure Windows operating systems. Familiar with concepts related to file and directory permissions. Familiar with Windows User Profiles and Group and System Policies.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Maintains and executes Customer Acceptance tests.  
• Verifies reports from end-users of inappropriate software behavior.  Such verification will include a series of steps that allow the behavior to be recreated and an indication of how serious the problem is for the end-user.
• Performs QA testing on products and product updates by using test manual, automated scripts, checklists, and exploratory testing.  
• Performs deployment testing for download builds and update packages.  
• Documents defects and failures.  
• Reviews product documentation for clarity and accuracy.  
• Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.

Candidates with skills or experience in the following areas are a plus:

• Working knowledge of commercial applications (like Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, common Internet browsers, etc.) both as a user and an administrator.
• Knowledge of HTML and MySQL.
• Experience with routers, subnets, firewalls, gateways, proxies, and wireless access points.  
• Experience with testing software and hardware.
• Ability to install, network and configure printers.
• Experience in technical support.
• Experience in the library industry.
• Experience with proprietary software testing a huge plus.
