RFID ILS Integration

RFID-Enablers for ILS Staff and ILS Self-Service Circulation Software

Renaissance RFIDLink No RFID implementation would be complete without integration with your Integrated Library System (ILS). From a staff perspective, you deserve seamless integration with your existing circulation software so that barcodes and RFID tags can be used simultaneously. Librarians have told us that they want to maintain the familar workflow in the circulation system you chose to manage your library. For self-service circulation, you either want a self check out/self-service station from EnvisionWare (we offer many choices) or a native product provided by your ILS vendor.

EnvisionWare RFIDLink™ is a powerful ILS integration suite that RFID-enables your ILS system. It seamlessly adds our RFID technology to your existing circulation software and, in many cases, to an ILS vendor-supplied native self check out/self-service circulation system.

RFIDLink is a family of products, installed from a single, wizard-style installer. RFIDLink provides a hardware interface to EnvisionWare RFID Reader/Writers and to other RFID products that enable cross vendor support. RFIDLink is at the hardware driver layer. Part of RFIDLink is a powerful transaction history database, the first of its kind in library RFID. We provide statistical data beyond anything you have imagined. I-Link for Millennium

Innovative Millennium libraries will appreciate the remarkable innovation of I-Link technology, the system that RFID-enables Millcirc and Innovative Express Lane self service circulation software. From the staff perspective, Millcirc works like it always has, except that RFID tag reading is seamlessly integrated along side your current barcode scanner. There's nothing new to learn because Millcirc is the only interface. And if you prefer the native self check out/check in system from Innovative instead of one offered by EnvisionWare, the I-Link software makes it work just as seamlessly as Millcirc. This system requires the Innovative Item Status API. I-Link and the Item Status API are one solution, but EnvisionWare is a company of choice. If you want an alternative approach, you can use EnvisionWare self-service circulation systems (software or software/hardware) and select a different approach to staff integration.
