Atlanta, GA, October 15, 2012 – EnvisionWare, a leading provider of self-service and library-efficiency solutions, announced today that Kalamazoo Public Library (KPL) has selected EnvisionWare for computer and financial management. The Library currently uses Smart Access Manager (SAM) from Comprise Technologies.
Through a strategic partnership with the Library’s ILS vendor, SirsiDynix, KPL will offer patrons the EnvisionWare Suite™ of integrated, self-service and efficiency products. The Suite includes PC Reservation® and LPT:One™ for computer and print management, as well as Launch Command ™, a customizable, touch-screen self-service station for patrons.
The Library will also use EnvisionWare’s suite of financial management products, including eCommerce Services™ for payments of fines and fees, the Staff Transaction Station (STS)™for point of sale services, and Barcode Plus® for copier payments.
To centralize and manage these systems and the computers, Kalamazoo staff will have access to EnvisionWare’s Authentication and Accounting Module (AAM)™ and Central Management™ software, which provide real-time viewing and management of the host computers, centralized management of PC Reservation and financial reporting, and the ability to host user accounts in an ILS or other database.
“KPL is thrilled to have made the switch to EnvisionWare!” said Kevin King, Head of Patron Services at Kalamazoo Public Library. “We experienced only minor bumps during the installation process and our staff was able to learn the system with little training. This is a testament to the product's usability as well as the expertise of the EnvisionWare staff.”
Kalamazoo, a 2002 Library of the Year award winner, serves a population of over 119,000 residents through five locations in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The computer and financial management systems are part of the library’s overarching goal to connect more people to the online world through the library’s computers and wireless network.
“With dozens of public computers and printers and a team of technology interns available to help patrons, Kalamazoo is a model library for self-service and efficiency,” said EnvisionWare CEO Mike Monk. “We’re pleased to partner with SirsiDynix to make it even easier for patrons and staff to use and manage these services.”
