If you’re attending PLA, make certain stop by the EnvisionWare booth and say “hello” to Candice Oliver, EnvisionWare’s Proposal Writer. Candice is a familiar face to many of you, having worked at public libraries and with library vendor partners for over 15 years.

Candice has her Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama. She began her career at a library technology vendor in Missouri, and then transitioned to a public library where her role as Director of Library Services included information technology, among other responsibilities. She also served as Regional Branch Administrator and Consortium Systems Administrator in St. Louis, MO.

“I absolutely love applying my library background to my role as a proposal writer,” said Candice. “I enjoy being part of helping libraries take the next steps in providing their patrons and community with the best technology in the industry.”

Her position as Proposal Writer also enables Candice to apply her technical background from positions in sales and product management at both Innovative Interfaces, Inc. and Bibliotheca.

With seven-year-old twins, Candice can be found in the off hours at her kids’ sporting events or hosting backyard barbeques with her family and friends. Downtime is spent, “Reading. All The Time.” (preferably in her hammock), trips to the beach and “drives to nowhere” with her husband of ten years.

Having grown up in a beach town in Alabama, Candice and her family share a love of the water, summer and, of course, Alabama football.

Candice is looking forward to visiting PLA to connect with friends and colleagues and find out what’s new in libraries (and find that next good book!).
