Former Columbus Metropolitan IT Director Named as EnvisionWare Executive Director
Atlanta Rob Walsh, President of EnvisionWare, announced today that Scott Fothergill has been named as the Company's new Executive Director. Fothergill joins EnvisionWare after a thirty-year career at Columbus Metropolitan Library, Hennen's leading library for several years.
With 30 years of experience in library information technology, and twenty-three years as the Director of Information Technology at a highly respected and innovative large library system, Mr. Fothergill brings customer insight and empathy, innovation, leadership, and energy to the world's leading library self service organization.
Said Fothergill, "I joined EnvisionWare because it is a Company run from the top with a great deal of integrity. As the clear leader in library self service, this Company has the creativity and motivation to deliver according to a broad array of customer needs, bringing with it a business ethic that is unmatched."
EnvisionWare has experienced explosive growth since its inception in 1998, and continues to expand as rapidly as it did in the early days of PC self service management. EnvisionWare has delivered one new product every year for ten years, until the last year when seven new products were delivered in one year. Covering the spectrum of library self service technology and services, EnvisionWare uniquely delivers the only end-to-end self service solution from a single vendor, and offers all services from a Company staff of highly skilled professionals.
"Scott has been studying management for most of his career," said company VP, Michael Monk, "and his unique style and wisdom for managing a large organization is exactly what we needed at this point in our evolution. We remain agile and creative, but have needed the added management skills to help our management team deliver added services and improved offerings to a rapidly growing base of diverse libraries."
Fothergill's initial goals are to provide management coaching while focusing significant energy on aiding the Company Directors in achieving Service Level Agreements or their equivalent in each department. "Maintaining a reputation as the best service organization and software developer isn't easy, particularly when you are expanding as rapidly as this Company is growing," offered Director of Support and Professional Services, Nova Chase, "but having worked with Scott as a consultant for the past few months, we know where we are headed and our customers will continue to be amazed at the level of support and professionalism provided by EnvisionWare at a time when the economy is eroding service at other organizations."
EnvisionWare is the world's largest provider of self service solutions for libraries, serving over 8,500 libraries around the globe from offices on two continents and a network of distributors and direct sales and support professionals. From time and print management to turnkey RFID, self service circulation, and Automated Materials Handling, EnvisionWare products deliver the most advanced, reliable, and adaptable solutions for libraries of all sizes and types.
